At the May 18, 2016 Meeting of the Pomfret Planning & Zoning Commission, the following application was acted upon: 
1. An application by CME for Brenda Bullied, Director of Facilities Services, Pomfret School, 398 Pomfret Street, for the addition of a 24’ by 40’ greenhouse behind the existing buildings, 400’+ westward of Pomfret Street; minor reconfiguration of parking area;  APPROVED with conditions.

Town of Pomfret
The Town of Pomfret amended “An Ordinance Regulating Purchases And Sales For The Town of Pomfret” (originally adopted at Special Town Meeting held October 17, 1996, Effective Date: November 9, 1996; Amended at Special Town Meeting held November 17, 1997, Effective Date: December 6, 1997; and Amended at Special Town Meeting held September 17, 2003, Effective Date: October 11, 2003) at its Annual Town Meeting of May 17, 2016.  The amendments to “An Ordinance Regulating Purchases And Sales For The Town of Pomfret” shall become effective June 10, 2016 or fifteen (15) days after its publication in a newspaper having a general circulation in the Town of Pomfret.
In summary the following paragraphs or items were amended (changes in bold):
Paragraph 1 (Item 1) “All contracts for goods or capital purchases reasonably estimated to cost $25,000.00 or more shall require the submission by invitation to bid based upon specifications prepared by the Selectmen, Board of Education or their designee.”
Paragraph 2 (Item 2) “All contracts for goods or capital purchases reasonably estimated to cost between $2,500.00 and $25,000.00 shall be awarded based upon three or more quotes for such goods or capital purchases involved.” 
Paragraph 6 (Item 8) “Sale of used equipment which has a reasonably estimated value of $5,000.00 or more (in the aggregate, if sold as a lot), shall be advertised and sold by receipt of sealed bid or at public auction.”
