Town of Pomfret
The Town of Pomfret approved the following ordinance at its Annual Town Meeting held June 7, 2017: “Ordinance Prohibiting the Storage, Disposal or Use of Waste from Oil and Gas Exploration or Extraction Activities or Any Derivative Thereof, In the Town of Pomfret, Connecticut”.  Said ordinance shall become effective July 7, 2017, or fifteen (15) days after its publication in a newspaper having a general circulation in the Town of Pomfret whichever is the later.
IN SUMMARY:  The ordinance prohibits the storage, disposal, or use of waste from oil and gas exploration or extraction activities or any derivative thereof, in the Town of Pomfret.  
Section 1. Prohibitions-Specifies natural gas waste or oil waste activities prohibited.  
Section 2. Provision to be included in bids and contracts for construction or maintenance of Town roads and real property-Specifies three (3) requirements that shall be adhered to when all bids and contracts related to the purchase or acquisition of materials to be used or the solicitation of services to construct or maintain any publicly owned and/or maintained road or real property within the Town.  
Section 3. Penalties-Specifies the actions the Town of Pomfret is empowered to take as a result of a violation or violations after the effective date of the ordinance.  
Section 4. Definitions-As used in this article or ordinance the meanings are indicated for the following terms:  Application, Hydraulic Fracturing, Natural Gas Extraction Activities, Natural Gas Waste, Oil Extraction Activities, Oil Waste, and Town.  
Section 5. Transportation-The ordinance does not ban the transportation of any product or by-product described herein on any roadway through the Town of Pomfret.  
Section 6. Severability-Specifies that if any provision of this ordinance shall be determined invalid or unenforceable to any extent, the remainder of the provisions of this ordinance shall not be affected thereby, and shall be valid and shall be enforced to fullest permitted by law.

Town of Pomfret
The Town of Pomfret approved the following ordinance at its Annual Town Meeting held June 7, 2017: “An Ordinance Establishing A Pomfret Commission On Aging”.  Said ordinance shall become effective July 7, 2017, or fifteen (15) days after its publication in a newspaper having a general circulation in the Town of Pomfret whichever is the later.
IN SUMMARY:  The ordinance specifies that the Pomfret Commission on Aging (PCA) shall be appointed by the Board of Selectmen, the requirements to be a member, and how many members and alternates the commission shall be composed of and their terms.  The ordinance stipulates that the Commission shall elect officers from its members, shall adopt rules, and make an annual report to the First Selectman.  The ordinance provides for the method for the filling of vacancies and the removal of any member for cause.  The ordinance stipulates that the Municipal Agent shall be a voting member, and that any chairman of any officially recognized Town of Pomfret Board or Commission shall serve as a member ex-officio of the PCA.  The ordinance lists the powers and duties that the Commission will have.

Putnam Special Services District
SPECIAL DISTRICT MEETING
The citizens and eligible voters of the Putnam Special Services District are hereby notified and warned of a Special Meeting to be held by the Putnam Special Services District Authority at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at the Putnam Fire Station, 189 Church Street , Putnam, Connecticut. 
At such Special Meeting the Putnam Special Services District Authority will hear public comment on the following items:
1. To choose a Moderator for said meeting;
2. Determine the wishes of those present and eligible to vote at the District Meeting of the Putnam Special Services District on the following resolution:
      RESOLVED, by the Special Meeting of the Putnam Special Services District that the sum of   $372,551.00 is hereby appropriated for the purchase of a fire rescue truck.  The $372,551.00  Appropriation shall be combined with the $90,000.00 in the Fire Department capital budget for Fiscal  Year 2017-2018 to create a total appropriation of $462,551.00.  The foregoing appropriation shall be  Funded by the transfer of $65,000.00 from the District’s capital and nonrecurring account together with  a bank loan not to exceed $370,041.00, which sums shall include all capital costs and anticipated interest  expenses.  The loan shall be amortized over a period of not more than 7 years and the District Authority  is hereby specifically authorized to approve such terms, conditions and interest rates for said loan as they  deem advisable
