Putnam Plastics’ Rick Cicchetti receives the Department of Defense “Patriot Award” from Employer Support of the Guard & Reserve Vice Chair, Tom Pandolfi. Putnam Plastics employee and Citizen Soldier Colin Bathgate, nominated Cicchetti for this award for supporting him while in the U.S. Navy Reserve. Bathgate said Cicchetti was very understanding and accommodating of his training needs when away from his job. The “Patriot Award” reflects the efforts made to support citizen warriors through a wide-range of measures including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families, and granting leaves of absence if needed.
