The COVID-19 vaccination has just opened Phase 1B, according to the Northeast District Department of Health (NDDH).
Currently scheduling:
·         Individuals 75 years and older
Scheduling soon:
·         Front line essential workers
·         Individuals between the ages of 65 and 74
·         Individuals between the ages of 16 and 64 with comorbidities
·         Individuals and staff in congregate settings
NDDH is doing everything possible to make sure that eligible individuals have the opportunity to get vaccinated, but we need your help. Vaccination is by appointment only. Please reach out to a family member, friend, neighbor, or other advocate who can help you access information online and set up an email account for you if you do not already have one. The state will soon publish a phone number for people 75+ who do not have the ability to schedule an appointment online. If you are in a position to help someone, please do so.
In order to be vaccinated at an NDDH COVID-19 Vaccination clinic, you must be registered in the Vaccine Administration Management System (VAMS). Employers will be responsible for uploading lists of eligible employees into the system and can learn how to do so here: https://portal.ct.gov/Coronavirus/COVID-19-Vaccinations—Employers
For all others who register independently, you will need an email address to register…that’s why it’s important for you to find someone to help you or reach out to someone else.

Please be patient! 75+ are being prioritized in Phase 1B. These priority phases are necessary while vaccine is in short supply. You will eventually be able to get your shot at a doctor’s office, urgent care center, and retail and supermarket pharmacies. These additional places will announce when they have vaccine, so please do not call looking for information now.
Until you can be vaccinated and even after you’ve been vaccinated, please continue to follow all of the recommended strategies to reduce your risk of getting COVID-19. These include wearing a mask, watching your distance, washing your hands, cleaning and disinfecting, and staying home when you are sick. Remember that people over the age of 65 have been advised to stay safe by staying home.
