PUTNAM — Are you an artist, art collector or art enthusiast? Art Guild Northeast is looking for members. Founded in 1985, the guild has more than 60 members that work in various media.
Membership is open to anyone 18 years or older. www.artguildne.org. The artwork sponsors include the Putnam Area Foundation, The Putnam Business Association, The Town of Putnam, Arts and Framing and The Bear Hands Brewing Company. The guild is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit and appreciate donations.
Elaine Turner, guild president and artist, said: “Currently we show at Windows Art Gallery, Arts and Framing, Silver Circle, Jewett City Savings Bank in Putnam, town halls, and The Courthouse Bar and Grill. Next month we will be at the Loos Gallery at Woodstock Academy for the holiday season. The Art Guild is always looking for new locations to share original artwork, beautifying the workplace and home. She added: “We strive to increase the appreciation for the visual arts throughout communities in the northeastern region and often partner with local businesses and municipalities to create public art. Members can participate in reduced cost workshops, help create murals, and show their art at guild-sponsored exhibits in Connecticut and Massachusetts. Our members encourage each other and gain knowledge and skill through lively meetings and demonstrations that take place from 6 to 8 p.m. the second Tuesday of the months of March, April, May, June, September, October and November at the Windows Gallery.
