Honored
U.S. Marine and Vietnam war vet Richard Tremblay, right, the keynote speaker at Putnam's Memorial Day program, receives a flag from Hans Lowell, commander of the Albert J. Breault VFW Post 1523. In his speech, Tremblay said since 1775 more than 1.33 million soldiers have died and "unfortunately still counting." He asked that instead of a "casual" Memorial Day people pause to consider those who paid the ultimate price. "Never forget our fallen comrades." The American Legion Post 13 presented a flag to grand marshal Michael Therrien. Linda Lemmon photo.
