QVJC Champions
Putnam Middle School defeated Dr. Helen Baldwin Middle School (Canterbury) May 31 in Norwich for the QVJC Small School Division Championship Title with a final score of 10-7. Ben Gustafson was the starting pitcher for Putnam with Nick Devlin coming in for relief. Putnam went up early in the first inning and never trailed. Canterbury tied it up a few innings later, but the top of the sixth inning saw Putnam push ahead as they scored 4 big runs and they were able to hold Canterbury for the win.
