Backpack effort doubles last year's
More than 350 kids walked into school the first day with a backpack full of supplies, courtesy of the annual Back to School Drive.
Cody Rogers, who organized this drive five years ago, said the drive collected 356 backpacks, all full of supplies.
He said this year’s drive “far doubled from the previous year.”
Backpacks full of supplies went to Dudley, Thompson, Woodstock, Eastford, Putnam, Killingly, and Brooklyn.
Asked why this particular cause was important to him, Rogers said: “I know what it’s like to need so I decided to give back and I stick with it.”
