Boot drive sets record
WOODSTOCK — The 2022 Winter Boot Drive for TEEG sponsored by the Woodstock Democratic Town Committee set new records recently for both total boots donated (90) and cash contributions ($950).
Anne Miller, executive director of TEEG, thanked all donors and WDTC volunteers for their efforts and the resulting success which, she said, will bring warmth and joy this holiday season to children and families in this wonderful corner of Connecticut.
Linemaster Switch Corporation led the way by donating 20 pairs of children’s winter boots.
Event chair Greg Kline said:  “Special thanks and appreciation also go to Tom and Polly Hayden, owners of Sweet Evalina’s Stand, which hosted the event for the first time.  Sweet Ev’s proved to be the right place for this event and we are so appreciative to Tom and Polly, who were very happy to host the boot drive,” Kline said.
In three years, boot drive supporters have contributed 211 pairs of boots and $2,550 in cash.
