PUTNAM — The town of Putnam will hold a household hazardous waste and confidential paper shredding collection day for its residents only from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 29 at the Putnam Middle School.
It is limited to Putnam residents only – bring a driver’s license or other proof of residency. This is not for commercial or industrial generators of hazardous waste.
What you can bring: oil-based paint, latex paint, paint thinner, drain cleaners, varnish, photographic chemicals, nail police remover, oven cleaners, toilet bowl cleaners. Also, antifreeze, insecticides, gasoline, radiator chemicals, auto body chemicals, fuel additives, transmission fluid, camping stove fuel, aerosol cans. Also: pool chemicals, herbicides, rat poison, moth balls, fungicides.
Not accepted: ammunition or gunpowder, highway or marine flares, Freon bearing white goods or fireworks.
