DAYVILLE — Westview Child Care Center recently held a ribbon-cutting in advance of its opening Aug. 28.
The new, state-of-the-art structure is built on the 32-acre campus of Westview Health Care Center. This new endeavor was established as an added benefit for employees at Westview Health Care Center and Country Living at Westview Commons —the independent and assisted living residency situated across the street.
In addition is offering the same services for families of the broader community.  The ribbon cutting ceremony was attended by owners Herbert Czermak and David T. Panteleakos, Westview Child Care Center’s Director Katy Holzer, several members of the team of teachers and personnel for Westview Child Care Center, and children who will attend Westview Child Care Center along with their families.
The 7,000 square-foot facility has been designed with children’s early care, education, and safety in mind.  Westview Child Care Center has enhanced security features to offer parents peace of mind.  One of these key elements is the remotely accessible, live-streamed surveillance that is available through a secure internet link for families to check on their littles ones at any time of day.  Outside of the building, a fully secure perimeter fence contains spacious, multi-purpose play areas.  This includes several expansive recreational destinations like the well-considered playscape, the safely-constructed AstroTurf field, and the ideally-dreamed “Imagination Castle” set on the property.  All of these spaces will provide children with plenty of room to learn, play, and grow.
The programs for Westview Child Care Center will cater to infants, toddlers, and preschoolers—while also offering after-school care for older children.  In addition to its serene location on the Westview campus, the child care center will provide proximal access to leading experts in pediatric speech-language pathology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and athletic training.  The team at Westview Child Care Center will provide age-appropriate activities, a strong curriculum, and the exciting “Adopt-A-Grandparent” program to foster intergenerational connections.
David T. Panteleakos, executive vice president and co-owner of Westview Child Care Center, said: “Building a child care center on our campus has been a dream of ours for a long time, and we are thrilled to open our doors on August 28th!  I am excited by the continuation of vertically integrating our health care systems at Westview for our stellar staff.  This innovative solution is meant to provide assistance in recruiting and retaining our most valuable resource:  our employees.   Furthermore, we look forward to fortifying our commitment to the community with the open enrollment of Westview Child Care Center.  Our facility’s Director, Katy Holzer, is a true talent and we are privileged to have her leadership with this new venture at Westview.  She and I have discussed, at length, our plans and expectations with Westview Child Care Center and we are confident in those prospects.  At the same time, we are tremendously excited for the unexpected opportunities that will arrive with each new day in this setting.  I would like to express my sincere thanks to several individuals and organizations who contributed to this creative construction."
He added, " I offer my gratitude to our general contractor, Ben Shaw from Shaw’s and Associates for their resourceful efforts, Alex Williams and his team from Westview Sports Medicine who were instrumental in the installation of our playground equipment, Herbert Czermak for his shared vision in this exciting endeavor, Hayden Stearns of H. T. Stearns Wood Products for constructing Westview’s Imagination Castle, everyone who contributed to the establishment of Westview Child Care Center, and all of the people who will walk forward with us on this joyous journey!”
