Teen charged
PUTNAM —  After a pepper spray incident at Putnam High School Feb. 13, a  17-year-old  student was charged with eight counts of risk of injury to a minor, second-degree reckless endangerment, breach of peace and disorderly conduct. Putnam Police Department said he was referred to juvenile court.
Police responded to the school after  a report that a student had sprayed “pepper spray” inside of the school.
Several students were seen by the school nurse for minor complaints of eye and throat irritation, all were able to return to class a short time later.  
Police said the student had sprayed the “pepper spray” in both a classroom and a hallway.
