Veterans Day ceremony set for Nov. 9
PUTNAM — The Putnam Veterans Advisory Committee and the Recreation Department have set this year’s Veterans Day Ceremony and dedication of the new bricks for 1 p.m. Nov. 9 at the Veterans Park.
There will be a limited number of chairs placed in the park. If you are able to carry in your own, please do. Handicapped drop-off will be at the synagogue lot.
If there is severe weather, the dedication will move to the Putnam Middle School Auditorium. Tune in to WINY Radio for any changes.
The ceremony offers an opportunity to reflect on the improvements at the park and on the incredible amount of service that is connected to this region. This is an area-wide celebration.
Pavers representing more than 3,000 veterans are now in the park. Orders are being taken now with a Feb. 1, 2026, deadline. Those pavers will be installed sometime next year.
