The Town of Putnam Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a hybrid meeting on January 20, 2026, at 7:00 P.M. in Room 201 on the second floor at the Putnam Municipal Complex, located at 200 School Street, Putnam, CT.  A public hearing will take place on the following:

Appeal # 2025-011  Sixty Providence Street LLC request for a variance from the required rear yard setback of 25’ down to 10’ for the construction of a 600 sq. ft. wash bay building.  Property located at 60 Providence Street, Town Assessors Map 11, Lot 80, Zoned General Commercial.

       The public is hereby notified and warned that a Public Hearing will be held in Room 109 of the Putnam Municipal Complex at 200 School Street, Putnam, CT on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 5:30 in the evening for purposes of discussing approval of the modified Four Party Agreement between the Town, Strategic Realty, Win-Waste and YMCA, including terms to include final Town property ownership of 6 Technology Drive, including using $198,000 Redevelopment Agency funding as approved by the Redevelopment Agency. Copies of the proposed agreement is on file in the office of the Town Clerk and is available for inspection during normal business hours.

The Electors and Citizens qualified to vote in Town Meetings of the Town of Putnam, Connecticut, are hereby notified and warned that a Special Town Meeting of said Town will be held in Room 109 of the Municipal Complex at 200 School Street, Putnam, CT on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 5:45 in the evening for the following purposes:
1. To choose a moderator for said meeting.

2. To determine the wishes of those present and eligible to vote at town meetings of the Town of Putnam with respect to approval of the modified Four Party Agreement between the Town, Strategic Realty, Win-Waste and YMCA, including terms to include final Town property ownership of 6 Technology Drive, including using $198,000 Redevelopment Agency funding as approved by the Redevelopment Agency. Notice is hereby given that Maureen Nicholson First Selectman of 5 Haven Road, Pomfret, CT 06259 will submit to the Department of Energy & Environmental Protection an application under Section(s) 22a-39 (INLAND WETLANDS AND WATERCOURSES); AND/OR Section 401 of the Federal Clean Water Act, 33 U.S.C. 1341 (401 WATER QUALITY  CERTIFICATE).
Specifically, the applicant proposes to widen and construct drainage improvements on an existing rail trail. The proposed activity will take place at Airline Trail from Pomfret Street (Route 44/169) in Pomfret to the Quinebaug River in Putnam. 
The proposed activity will potentially affect: 
Wetlands and intermittent watercourses adjacent to the Airline Trail.

A certified list of twenty-three (23) Democratic party-endorsed candidates for the Town of Pomfret for election as Members of the Town Committee At-Large is on file in my office at Five Haven Road, Pomfret Center, Connecticut, and copies are available for public distribution. The number of Town Committee Members to be elected, under party rules, is thirty (30).
A primary will be held March 3, 2026, if six (6) candidacies (which is at least 25% of the number of town committee members to be elected by such party in the municipality) are filed in accordance with SS9-382 to 9-450, inclusive, of the General Statutes, by persons other than party-endorsed candidates, not later than 4:00 p.m. of January 28, 2026, provided the number of such candidacies plus the number of endorsed candidates, exceeds the number of town committee members to be elected. (If the number of opposing candidacies filed is reduced to less than such 25%, no primary will be held.) LIMITATION ON THE REAL PROPERTY TAX EXEMPTION FOR VETERANS WITH A SERVICE-CONNECTED PERMANENT AND TOTAL DISABILITY RATING
Pursuant to 12-81(83)(G) of the Connecticut General Statutes, the total amount of any property tax exemption or exemptions granted to an individual under the provisions of 12-81(83) shall not exceed the median assessed valuation of residential real property within the Town of Putnam. Said median assessed valuation shall be calculated by the Town of Putnam Assessor. The provisions of this article shall become effective commencing with the October 1, 2026 Grand List.
