WORCESTER --- The following local residents graduated May 15, 2010, from Worcester Polytechnic Institute: Joseph Cotnoir, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul D. Cotnoir of Putnam, was awarded a bachelor's in interactive media and game development with Distinction; Paul David Cotnoir, of Putnam, was awarded a doctor of philosophy degree in manufacturing engineering; David Craig Embree, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Craig Embree of Woodstock, was awarded a bachelor's in mechanical engineering; Daniel Raymond Garcia, son of Mr. and Mrs. Luis A. Garcia of Putnam, was awarded a bachelor's in robotics engineering with Distinction; Olinda Alexandra LaBeef, of Pomfret, was awarded a master's of mathematics for educators degree; Phoebe Elizabeth Riley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Christopher A. Riley of Pomfret Center, was awarded a bachelor's in biology and biotechnology with Distinction; Brian T. Szpyrka, son of Ms. Lena Ladyka of Putnam, was awarded a bachelor's in management engineering.

WORCESTER --- April K. Herleikson of Pomfret Center was named to first honors on the Clark University dean's list for the fall 2009 semester. She is a sophomore and attended Woodstock Academy.
