‘The Summer Collection’ photo
exhibit is now on view
PUTNAM — The print images of Putnam photographer Carmine Angeloni are on view through Sept. 30 at The Corridor Gallery in the Putnam Municipal Complex. The eclectic group of images from Europe, the coastal and inland areas of New England, and the high desert region of the Southwest; are tied together by a singular focus — this photographer’s eye.
Angeloni, a self-taught photographer, is primarily a landscape and cityscape photographer inspired by a wide-range of work including that of Robert Frank, the acclaimed Joel Meyerowitz, the Italian abstract landscape photographer; and Franco Fontana Henri. Quoting Henri, Angeloni described his art: “Much of photography is observation, to tell a story, or record a moment; to place head and heart and eye along the same line of sight.”
The collection includes both color and monochrome prints of traditional “wetroom” and inkjet printer origin, including a few created using the famed Cibachrome process. Carmine has participated in juried shows throughout western Massachusetts and eastern Connecticut. Since 2015 he has been an exhibitor at the Paradise City Arts Festival in Northampton and Marlborough, Mass. He is a current member of the Art Guild Northeast and the New Hampshire Art Association.
A Opening Reception, sponsored by the Putnam Arts Council, will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. July 24 with refreshments and a chance to speak with the artist. The reception is free and open to the public.
