HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT
Qualified self-starter wanted for Town of Pomfret Highway Department. Must hold Class B CDL license/valid medical card, have a background in operating heavy equipment, and possess knowledge of equipment repair.
Position includes, but is not limited to, assignments on all municipal road work including snowplowing, various equipment repairs, landscaping, building maintenance, and any other duties as needed and assigned. Five years of driving/equipment operation experience is preferred.
Must be available to work nights and weekends as needed, able to lift up to 100 pounds, possess mechanical aptitude in equipment repair, and pass a DOT physical and drug screen. Salary dependent upon qualifications and experience. Joins board
CorePlus Federal Credit Union named Nancy H. Bulkeley of Pawcatuck as a director, effective January, 2020. Bulkeley was appointed to fill the unexpired term of former Director William Poirier.

Nancy Bulkeley is the Senior Community Affairs Representative for Dominion Nuclear Connecticut. Nancy has been in the nuclear industry for 23 years, in the areas of human resources, communications and public affairs. In her current position, Nancy is responsible for representing her company and its policies and programs in the community. She is the primary interface to local governmental and community groups not only in nuclear-related discussions but as a key interface for the local charities that are part of Dominion’s focus as a responsible member of the community. Nancy has served several non-profit organizations. She supports education programs through tours, community outreach, special events, and establishes and promotes minority outreach programs. The CorePlus board is made up of volunteers and it meets on a regular basis.They've made a commitment to make certain the Credit Union provides valuable products and services to the membership. As a not for profit cooperative financial institution, CorePlus Federal Credit Union annually elects officials who volunteer their time and talent to serve the Credit Union on behalf of its membership. The Credit Union Board and Supervisory Committee members are nominated from the membership at large and voted on by the members at the Annual Meeting.

PUTNAM — The Putnam Rotary Club’s annual Ronald P. Coderre Golf Tournament was a success, according to Golf Tournament Chairman Shawn McNerney.
Despite the changes COVID-19 brought about, McNerney said he believes the tournament, one of the club’s biggest fund-raisers, still did well.
Three teams tied for the best overall score at 57.After applying the USGA Tiebreaker rules, the order of the top three:
1st Northeast Flooring & Kitchens team — John Darigan, Bob Darigan, Jason Gerum and Mark Jurski
2nd. BenPe Consulting team — Mike Meehan, Brendon Meehan, Daryn Trudeau and John Trudeau.
3rd. Bucknam, Masseur & Associates team — Steve Bucknam, Don Wilson, Walter Greer and Dave Curry.
The top three net scores (applying handicaps):

POMFRET — The Pomfret Public Library recently received a grant from International Paper and is using it to put together a collection of circulating Early Learning Kits for preschool through elementary school. The grant will be used to supplement virtual and/or homeschooling.
The library is looking for input from families. The library wants the collection to include the resources students/families need most.
