Graduation
The Putnam Science Academy graduated 23 seniors May 30 at the new Liberal Arts building recently purchased by PSA’s president. In four years’ time, the school has gone from 15 students to more than 100. The 2019 Class saw Ariana Koivisto and Aboubacar Dibasic named valedictorian and salutatorian while other seniors were awarded throughout the night for their hard work in the classroom, on the court or helping the community. PUTNAM — The Aspinock Historical Society is enjoying their membership with the Putnam Business Association and participating in the theme-based First Fridays events each month. June’s celebration focuses on music, which strikes a harmonious chord in all of us.
In addition to AHS’s First Fridays booth set up on the lawn of the Congregational Church of Putnam, the society will present “Putnam’s Music History through the Ages” at 6:30 p.m. June 13 at the Joseph Pempek Conference Room in Putnam High School (enter from Milton Street).
Al Smat, a local musician who worked with many musicians in the area, will strike up the memories; then AHS’s Fabiola M Cutler has a Power Point presentation from an historical perspective that will play after Smat’s presentation.
Remember the Coachmen? Or were you a member of the St. Mary’s Band? Maybe a church choir or school band… Do you perform now? Come and enjoy the photos and memories, and please bring yours.
You can access the conference room from Milton Street.
