DAYVILLE — Jessica Vernon starts off the year as Westview Health Care Center’s Employee of the Month for January. First employed as an Administrative Assistant in the Sports Medicine outpatient department, then she joined the nursing department as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
She said, “Growing up, I always knew that I would one day work at Westview with the most dedicated, caring, and loving staff I could ever know.”
She is the daughter of Diane and Kevin Vernon and has a brother, Kevin Vernon Jr. She holds a karate black belt and is a runner. She was grew up in Pomfret and graduated from The Woodstock Academy. She has an associate’s degree from Quinebaug Valley Community College as a certified nursing assistant and a bachelor’s degree from UConn in speech, language, and hearing sciences. She is now working on a degree as a registered nurse.
Westview Administrator David Panteleakos said, “Jessica is very deserving of the employee of the month distinction and acknowledgement. Her commitment to providing excellent health care services and dedication to the residents is outstanding. Jess also does not shy away from hard work and is always willing to pitch in when needed.”

PUTNAM — Michelle DeMarco was named Putnam Bank’s Employee of the Month for February 2019. She has been with the bank since December 2001, and currently serves as head teller of the Main Office.
DeMarco said, “I am so thankful and thrilled to be chosen for this award. I’m grateful to work with such an amazing group of people.”
She volunteers at her children’s school for various activities and sporting events. She enjoys traveling, camping, watching her children play baseball and basketball, and spending time with her family and friends.
“Michelle has been with Putnam Bank since 2001 and has done a great job working her way up, and is now serving as head teller of the Main Office. Customers frequently remark to me on her pleasant demeanor and excellent work,” said Thomas A. Borner, president and CEO of Putnam Bank.
