Hyde welcomes
grandparents
WOODSTOCK --- Hyde School recently held its second annual Grandparent’s Day on the Woodstock campus.
Approximately 40 grandparents came to the campus for the event, participating in a number of activities such as a school tour, a luncheon, a school meeting and a closing thank you ceremony from the students.
“Last year’s day was attended by almost 30 grandparents,” shared Donna Dubinsky, head of family education at Hyde School. “It was great to see many of those grandparents return and others join in the day as well. It meant a lot to the students to have them come and experience the school for a day.”
“I received a lot of different lessons and mottos from my grandparents,” shared faculty member Pam Bertschy. “But what I really learned was that actions speak louder than words, and the importance of always standing by your word.”
In response, grandparents were asked to share any wisdom or major lessons they had learned so far in their lives.
“What I received from my grandparents was unconditional love and approval,” shared Rita Berger, grandmother of Evan Berger ’13.
