PUTNAM — Veteran’s Park in Putnam is an official location for the 2019 National Wreaths Across America Day at noon Dec. 14.
The park will join the nearly 2,000 participating locations across the country to remember, honor and teach.
At the stroke of noon, there will be a moment of National Silence followed by a program that will include Wreaths being laid in memory of those who served and are serving in the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard and Merchant Marines. A speaking program will be conducted by the American Legion Post# 13.
National nonprofit Wreaths Across America started as a simple gesture of thanks that has grown into a national movement of dedicated volunteers and communities coming together to not only remember the nation’s fallen and honor their service, but to teach the next generation about the sacrifices made for Americans to live freely.
