Art Exhibit
THOMPSON --- —The Friends of the Library will present, as part of its Art @ the Library and Display Case series, “The 1st Annual Quiet Corner Community Art Show: Expansion” through April 26. Reception is 6 to 7:30 p.m. April 15.

PUTNAM --- An exhibit by Putnam resident and photographer Janet McDonald is now on display in the Municipal Complex’s Corridor Gallery. Reception from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. May 9.

Krispy Kreme!
PUTNAM --- The Putnam Rotary's Interact Club will be selling Krispy Kreme donuts from 8 a.m. to noon outside of Runnings, WINY Radio, the Citgo in Putnam near Walmart and the Citgo in Pomfret. $15 a dozen. Benefits the Interact’s International project, a Solar Suitcase (a small generator) that they will put together and then send to a needy clinic or school that doesn't have electricity.

Naturalist
POMFRET --- The Connecticut Audubon Society at Pomfret will present “Become a Backyard Naturalist” at 1 p.m. at the center . Covered: planting native plants, focusing on biodiversity, removing invasive species, habitat certifications; mobile apps to help with bird, insect, and plant identification, The Pollinator Pathway Initiative, No-Mow May, lawns to meadows, and water features. Free.

Open Mic
HARRISVILLE --- First Universalist Church of Burrillville will host its first Open Mic on from 7 to 9 p.m. If you wish to perform, arrive 30 minutes early to sign up. Open mic participants will have 10 minutes or two songs, five minutes or two poems. If they get through the list early, they will do a 'lightning round,' and go around again. PUTNAM --- Putnam’s annual Beautification Day will be held starting with a gathering at 8:30 a.m. at Putnam Rotary Park where volunteer teams will receive their assignments. DAYVILLE --- The Eastern Connecticut Amateur Radio Association (ECARA) is holding its annual ham radio flea market, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Killingly High School cafeteria. There will be a flea market with radios, electronics, GMRS, shortwave, computers and other items, seminars, food trucks, an FCC ham radio license exam session, and more.
