Numerous car break-ins reported
PUTNAM — The Putnam Police Department reminds residents to always lock your vehicle and don’t leave valuables, purses, wallets, etc. in your vehicle.
This reminder followed reports on May 30 from a resident of Sabin Street that their vehicle had been entered and rummaged through overnight.  Over the course of that morning, numerous other reports of cars being entered in the overnight hours in the area on Sabin Street, Vandale Street, and Pomfret Street were reported — all were unlocked vehicles.  
Several residents have provided video footage of the suspect.  This remains an open and active investigation. A suspect has been identified and an arrest is expected.
Still — the department reminds residents to always lock your vehicle doors and don’t leave valuables, purses, wallets etc. in your vehicle.
