3 sign for PSA at National College Signing Day
PUTNAM — Few basketball programs across the country boast three players on the same team that are capable of playing Div. I basketball. Few basketball programs across the country are Putnam Science Academy. Parrish Edmond, Jah Hatchett and Adama Tambedou signed their national letters of intent to continue their journey on the Div. I stage.
Parrish Edmond will continue his academic and athletic career at Siena College out of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Association. Jah Hatchett will also play in the MAAC with Fairfield University. Adama Tambedou will take his talents to the University of Maryland of the Big Ten Conference. Edmond and Tambedou are the first in their family to go to college. Adama Tambedou could not be happier. “I’m just too happy, proud of myself to make it that far from Senegal. From a young kid to a grown man with ambitions, I’m just happy to be here,” said Tambedou. “To have my first scholarship, the first in my family to make it that far.” Parrish Edmond said: “It’s a big blessing to be up here, signing this and going to college is a big step for me. I’m really excited for the next and see what’s next for me,” Edmond said.
The Siena Saints are getting an athletic wing who brings intensity on both offense and defense. He’ll also be bringing his high-flying athletic abilities to the floor. Edmond will give the Siena fans what they want to see with his ability to finish above the rim. Jah Hatchett is also joining the MAAC as he will be playing for the Fairfield University Stags. Said Hatchett: “Fairfield is going to get a vocal leader, on and off the court. A point guard that can score, do everything to make his team happy.” According to Hatchett, not only will the Stags get a leader and a do-it-all point guard, he’ll also be “a fun player to be around.”
