We need more ‘Putnam Blue’ ribbon

PUTNAM — Perhaps the town of Putnam and the Putnam Business Association need to start ordering “Putnam Blue” ribbon in bulk.
More and more often, another business starts or moves to Putnam and it’s time for a ribbon cutting.
Such was the case June 26 when Kluttered Korner consignment shop on Rt. 171 celebrated its third move and its new owner.
Putnam Business Association President Kate Cerrone gave new business owners Valerie Gamble, Ph.D. and her partner Josh Nason a plaque and well wishes. She said: “We thank you for joining. We’re very happy to have you as a member. We are here to support local businesses.” She added, “Fellow business owners (in the PBA) understand” and can help. She added, “You are part of the community and you’re enriching the area.”
Mayor Barney Seney also welcomed the business to Putnam.
Gamble said she is still working in pharmaceuticals; however, she is doing this, too, with help from her “tremendous staff,” saying she has a “big group of girlfriends.” She added her “retirement plan goal is to give back to the community. “We plan to do what we can to give back.”
Her partner owns another local business Slater Hill Tool.
Gamble said since buying the business “We’ve been busy ever since we’ve been here.”
