'Warm Up'
donations sought
PUTNAM — There’s a tree next to the inside entrance of the Putnam Public Library and the boxes there are ready to be filled with “Warm Up Putnam” donations, according to library Director Priscilla Colwell.
New or handmade “warmth” items, like scarves and mittens and hats and socks will be collected until Christmas. In the new year, the Putnam Family Resource Center will be given items for children and adult-sized items will go to the Interfaith Human Services of Putnam’s Nu2U Clothing Closet. Colwell said each year the community is so generous. “There’s one family who has a knitter who knits all year long to create so many warmth items and they bring them all in. It’s just amazing.”
