PUTNAM --- The Putnam Middle School baseball team has completed the first five games of their eight game season with a record of 3-2.  The boys have battled back from close opening week losses to Lisbon and Canterbury with wins over Pomfret, Parish Hill, and Lisbon.  Anchored by eighth graders Jeremiah Knipe, Taylor Genest, Joe Hill, Luke Sarsfield, Andrew Bowen, AJ Smith, Kris Bates, Connor McNulty, and Spencer Salvas, the Wolfpack has made their goal of reaching the playoffs a strong possibility.  Rounding out Putnam’s squad are key contributors from the seventh grade such as Shawn Audet, Jacob Guertin, Chris Dundon, Ryan Renshaw, and Steven Dakai, as well as sixth grader Kyle Loomis.  As the team continues to play sound fundamental baseball with the major emphasis on pitching and defense, confidence is definitely at an all time high at the middle school.
