PUTNAM — Putnam Science Academy’s Michael Gittens has announced next year he will attend Worcester State College in Worcester.
Gittens, a 6-foot, 5-inch player from Uncasville, played this past season at Putnam Science Academy. He averaged 17.3 points, 10.4 rebounds and 2.0 blocked shots per game.
Before coming to Putnam Science, Gittens starred at Montville High School where he was a CIAC Class M All State player.
Gittens will play for coach David Lindberg who has led the Division III Lancers for the past 16 seasons. Worcester State Lancers finished this past season at 13-14. WSC plays in Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference.
