PUTNAM --- The Putnam Recreation Department presents “French Canadian Fest” from 2 to 9 p.m. Sept. 11 at Rotary Park.
Meat Pie, pea soup, crepes and maple fritters will be served as well as baked beans, poutine and Gorton with toast. G-7 Caterers and volunteer groups including the Putnam Rotary Club, Putnam Lions Club and Day Kimball Hospital Well-Wishers will handle the food for the event.
Popular singer Josee Vachon will kick off the entertainment at 2 p.m. on the bandstand. At 3:45 “Les Joyeux Copains” will perform and at 5:30 p.m., “The Little Big Band” takes the stage.
The event will end with the final River Fire of the season beginning at 7:15 p.m. Twenty floating fires will illuminate the Quinebaug River with music provided by WINY. Admission and parking are free for French Canadian Fest.
