Putnam Science Academy takes part in NY scrimmage
The Putnam Science Academy traveled to Troy, N.Y., Aug. 30 for a scrimmage football game.
While they didn’t win, the defense showed its mettle.
Hudson Valley Community College won the game, 59-14.
PSA’s Demarcus Williams connected with Ronald Florian-Moreta for a 17-yard touchdown with 5:07 remaining in the first quarter. 
Williams threw his second touchdown of the game in the fourth quarter, completing a pass to running back Darien Daniels. 
Williams scrambled into the end zone for the two-point conversion, making it 59-14.
 The defense showed its mettle with two second-half interceptions — the first by linebacker Grayson Jackson followed by safety Donovan Darden. 
The Mustangs begin their regular season, Sept. 7 at Salve Regina University.
