Putnam Science women’s prep soccer goes 3-0-1
PUTNAM — The Putnam Science Academy women’s prep soccer team went 3-0-1 at the St. Bernard School Aug. 30. The team participated in four shortened games throughout the day. Game one was scoreless against number-14 ranked Waterford. Grace Barrett and Livia Katanosaka spilt times as the goalie, having four saves a piece.
The Mustangs tallied their first victory, 6-0, against New London. Luana Mendes got the scoring going for PSA. 
Maneola Silva scored the first of her four goals from an assist by Jacqueline Koki, to make it 2-0. Silva found the back of the net to give Putnam leads of 3-0, 4-0. She scored her fourth and final goal to make it 5-0. Laura De Paulo scored the final goal of the game for the Mustangs. 
PSA got its second win against St. Bernard thanks to Mendes’s goal three minutes in, 1-0. 
A last-minute goal by Julia Yagui gave the Mustangs a 1-0 victory over Montville. Throughout the tournament the Mustang scored eight goals while giving up none.
